Golden Goddess BambooMar 13, 2010 We purchased this bamboo from a local nursery to create a privacy screen (now 15 ft. high) at the boundaries of our property. Clump bamboo has roots that grow round and round in a circular pattern. It is best to allow plenty of space for the roots.
Let it self-mulch because this plant loves moisture. Drought can kill it, but not overwatering. The black-capped chickadees and cardinals love to nest in it. Truly, it is a constant source of joy. USDA Cold Hardiness Zone 8-10, minimum temperatures of 10 to 20 degrees F.
