The red little beauties on your new pomegranate tree are virtually seedless, with red skin and clear (non-staining) juice. Harvest your 'eversweets' late summer through fall whether you garden on the coast or inland. Pomegranates usually end up around 8-10 ft. with an arching habit, yet can be trained as a tree with a single trunk or as an espalier. The large, showy, orange-red flowers in the spring an added bonus. Pomegranates like the heat, and are not too picky on soil, even liking it a bit alkaline. Water consistently until established. Only needs about 150 hours chilling, yet hardy to around USDA zone 7, so a worthwhile consideration in many parts of the country when used as a container plant. Self-fruitful.
